3D Book Mockup Generator

Upload your cover and get a realistic paperback render with your book's true spine thickness, computed from page count and paper stock. Real-time WebGL you can drag to rotate. In-browser, no signup, transparent PNG export.

Sliced into back, spine, and front automatically, and re-sliced whenever you change trim, pages, or paper, so all three faces always fit. PDF covers: export as PNG or JPG first.

Spine: 0.721, rendered to scale. Exact cover file math lives in the spine calculator.

Review quotes (up to 3)

Stars (halves supported), quote up to about 60 words with automatic wrapping, and attribution, drawn on the image and every export. Each review gets its own position.

Photo mode renders with a physically accurate path tracer: real global illumination, true soft shadows and reflections. Takes 10-25 seconds; the preview freezes while it renders.

The shot set cycles styles, cameras, backdrops, and lighting and downloads a ready-to-post studio pack of your cover, like a mockup photoshoot in one click.

Video (MP4)

Nine motion styles: Turntable and Overhead spin loop a full 360°; Breathing loop is a seamless in-and-out for autoplaying feeds; Cinematic arc and Crane descent are the product-film moves; Low hero orbit, Tracking push, Showcase sway, and Zoom reveal round out the set. 60 fps takes twice as long but looks broadcast-smooth. All H.264 MP4. The render appears below as a preview first; download only if you like it.

With background None, PNG exports are transparent. The turntable video renders a full 6-second rotation as MP4 (plays everywhere, including QuickTime and phones). Your images never leave your browser.

A mockup with your book's real anatomy

Generic mockup templates render every book at the same fake thickness. This generator computes your actual spine from page count and paper stock, the same published per-page factors used for print cover files, so a 700-page epic looks like the object it will be, and a novella looks like one too. If you are preparing the print files themselves, the spine width calculator gives you the exact cover dimensions and dieline templates, and our print formatting guide covers the full interior-to-cover workflow.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a 3D mockup of my book cover?+

Upload your front cover image, your full print wrap, or all three faces individually (front, back, and spine), set your trim size and page count, and the generator renders a 3D book with your real proportions: the spine thickness comes from your page count and paper stock using the platforms’ published per-page factors. Pick a style (paperback, hardcover, stack of three, hero pair, or e-reader), drag the book to any angle in real-time 3D, drop it into your own scene photo with matched lighting and depth of field, then export in social-ready formats (square, Instagram post, story, link preview), a path-traced Photo mode still, all four standard views in one click, or rotating MP4 video.

Why does page count matter for a mockup?+

Because it sets the spine. A 700-page epic is a visibly chunky object and a 130-page novella is a slim one; generic mockup templates ignore this and render every book at the same fake thickness. This generator computes the real spine from pages times per-page paper thickness, the same math used for print cover files.

Are my cover images uploaded to a server?+

No. Everything renders in your browser on a canvas element; your images never leave your device. That also means it works offline once the page is loaded.

What export formats are available?+

PNG at 1200, 2000, or 3000 pixels square; an All Views set that exports the four standard camera angles in one click; and MP4 video in three motion styles (a full 360 degree turntable, a gentle showcase sway made for ads and reels, and a zoom reveal that dollies in on the cover) at 3, 6, or 10 seconds, rendered as H.264 so it plays everywhere including QuickTime, iMessage, and every social platform. With the background set to None, PNG exports have a fully transparent background.

Can it show my book open, with interior pages?+

Yes. The Open book style renders your book lying open with realistically curved page spreads over the page block, covers beneath. Upload any page or full spread image from your interior (wide images split across the two pages automatically), or let the tool generate a realistic typeset page. It is the classic look-inside shot for showing off your formatting.

What is Photo mode?+

Photo mode re-renders your composition with a physically accurate path tracer running in your browser: real global illumination, true soft shadows, and physically correct reflections, the same class of rendering used for product photography CGI. It takes roughly 10 to 25 seconds and downloads a 2000 px still. Everything else in the tool renders in real time; Photo mode is for the final hero image.

Can I put my book into a real photo?+

Yes. Upload any photo as the scene, then use the placement controls: depth-of-field blur softens the photo behind the book, book size and height-in-frame let you set the book down so its contact shadow lands on the photo’s surface, and Match photo lighting rebuilds the 3D reflections and fill light from the photo itself, so the covers pick up the scene’s color instead of looking pasted on.

Can the book sit behind objects in my photo, like on a tray or shelf?+

Yes, with the foreground brush. Paint over the parts of the photo that should be in front of the book, such as a tray edge, a plant, or hands, and those regions are re-composited on top of the 3D render. Because it is the same photo with the same crop, the result is seamless, and the occlusion carries into PNG exports and the turntable video.

Can I use these mockups commercially?+

Yes. The output is your own cover art rendered in 3D; use it on your website, ads, social posts, newsletters, and store pages freely.
